Young's score simply indicates two pitches, B and F#, and the directions to hold them for a long time. In the spirit of exploring his work, I recorded this humble 40 minute version with the following gear:

Gibson SG electric guitar
Fender Twin Reverb amplifier
Neumann U-87 condenser mic
Tube Tech MP 2A pre-amp & SMC-2B compressor

Sonata III: Synthesis

I finally have a video of the premier of my piece "Sonata III", dedicated to and performed by Michael Ibrahim (professor of saxophone at West Virginia University) and long time muse and shephard Ron Stabinsky.  This piece is an amalgamation of the languages of notated and improvisatory practices in avant-garde music.  The pitch content is spectral in structure, based on the overtones of a tenor saxophone.  A few years ago, Michael shared a recording of saxophonist Sam Hillmer with me, and this piece is an extension of that gift.
