sound design for theater & dance
Translation Play
Emily Feldman June 2015 Starring Sean McIntyre, Caroline Siewert, Mary Glen, and Ben Fischer. Conceived by Emily Feldman, Steven Leffue, & Jaymee Ngerwichee Conceived as a piece of collaborative theater, Translation Play presents a ridiculous skewering of high school relationships, self help books, guidance counselors, and especially the theatrical edifice itself. Taking the most typical sentiments and showcasing their perversion, I designed the entire concept as a series of doorbells and telephone rings (a sound designer's classic calling card) which served to introduce and define double casted characters and delineate scenes on an otherwise empty stage. Doorbells even make guest appearances in the Bender Ballet, a centerpiece of improvised dance between the play's Byronic heros. |

Ερυθρό
Really Fall November 2014 Theodore and Adele Shank Theater Original choreography by Yolanda Snaith Original musical score by Steven Leffue Ερυθρό was composed of manipulated elements pulled from three elements: water, wind, and fire. Synthesizing acoustic sources with digital processes, this piece evokes apocalyptic lava flows, the prehistoric flute, explosive percussion, and highlights my penchant for wild drones. |
